Happy Birthday Emery!

Emery turned six years old the first day of summer break.  She was really excited to get bigger, but said she didn't feel bigger.  She told me she wants to be big like Avery.  Emery really has turned into a sweet kids.  The day before her birthday Aimee, Karl, Tyler, and Jules(Aimee's niece) came over to celebrate Emery early since they were going out of town.  The kids played outside a whole bunch and then had fun building a giant bed out of pillows in the basement.
On Emery's actual birthday we got up and hiked Franklin Falls in the morning with my parents.  The kids did pretty well on the hike, and seeing the falls was well worth effort.  Per Emery's request we went to McDonald's for dinner with my parents again, and then came back home for cake and presents.  Emery loved all her gifts and she had a great day.

Emery also wanted to go sledding down the hill with cardboard.

Emery is so expressive when opening gifts.

She was so happy to get whatever LOL doll that was.

This is Emery's birthday crown and beach ball she got at school.

Emery really wanted Hot Wheels cars to use on Luke's track for her birthday and Grandma and Grandpa delivered.

This is how Harper dressed to play outside when Aimee and Karl visited.

Emery was super happy to get her gift from Aimee and Karl.

This is from earlier in the month when Emery decided she needed to learn how to cook.

Last Day of School

We got five extra days of school tagged onto the end of the school year because of all our snow, so the kids finally got out of school two days ago.  (Luke's been done with preschool since the fifth though.)  Everyone was ready for the end of the school year of course.  Daryl and I were both able to attend the last day of school assembly.  Each grade sings a song, and it was really cute.  Now we are ready to have a bit of a break.

This is everything I pulled out of Avery's bag at the end of the year.

Luke did really well during the assembly until the Switch died.

Emery made a butterfly and a watermelon.

Emery and Avery hung up the school year's last art.  Emery's are clearly labeled hers, and the other two belong to Avery.

This was at Harper's field trip two days before school ended at a local park.  This is her best friend Nailah.  They have been in the same class every year since Kindergarten.

Luke is clearly taller on his last day of school.

Emery looks to be about the same.

Harper finally got her two front teeth last month!

Avery wore the same pants on the first and last day purely by accident.

June Stuff

June has been pretty exciting and busy with all the end of the school year stuff, and some birthday fun already.  Luke's best buddy Zander turned four, so we had a little party for him at our house complete with pinata (This is what happens when your mother's are BFFs).  The kids really enjoyed the pinata.  Avery and Harper went to Activity Day Camp at Church at the beginning of the month, so Daryl and I took Luke and Emery out to lunch for special Mom and Dad time.  Daryl and Avery participated in Bellevue's Lake to Lake bicycle ride and rode nine miles from Phantom Lake to Lake Sammamish I believe.  Then also much to the kids' delight we got to dog sit DeAnna and Brad's dog, Lady this last weekend.

Emery also had to get a milkshake while out with Mom and Dad.

Luke really wanted Daryl and I to pose like this for pictures.

Here I am too.

Avery won these cool Starbuck's gifts at the bike ride.

Art Competition

One Sunday Harper decided that the family needed to hold an art competition complete with an actual sign up and as the grand prize art lessons from Harper.   The kids created structures from paper with the help of Daryl.  Honestly I can't remember what they built except for the paper airplane that Luke presented, I know that Emery lost because it was devastating.

Don't you love Harper's spelling?

This is how everything was displayed.

This was Emery's piece.  I think it must have been a house.

Luke really wanted his picture taken.
