Harper Helps Out

Downstairs in the laundry room is what I like to call a cat feeding station.  This is a pretty good spot for it since the children don't normally go downstairs without Mom or Dad.  Unfortunately sometimes you have to go to the bathroom, and when you're done the children are no where to be found.  I think you know where there is going.
Bless Harper's kind soul for thinking of her poor kitty brothers and deciding that we were not feeding them enough.  Not only did she pile the food into their kitty dish, she filled their fountain full of food and the spare water dish next to the food dish.  I'm pretty sure Harper did this on her own because Avery told me so, and I am inclined to believe her since she seemed to be pretty busy putting a whole lot of lotion in her hair at the time.

Nothing like eating water logged kibble.

Harper friend to cats.

Crystal Mountain Gondola Ride

Last Friday we went up to the Crystal Mountain Resort to ride their gondola.  It was really nice.  We also ate at the Summit House at the top of the gondola.  The food there was okay.  You should stick to the burger if you eat there.  We enjoyed having one last hurrah of summer before Daryl started school up again.

Daryl and Harper.  Harper is drinking her pediasure from a coffee cup because we left her sippy in the car.

Avery was really excited to be going up.

Harper took a moment to warm up to the gondola.

Now she's happy.

It was a pretty misty morning, but you can still make out Mount Rainier barely.

Avery Starts Preschool!

Avery started preschool today at our local elementary just a couple blocks down the road from us. Before we left I asked her to pose for a picture for me with her tiger bag on, and this is what she did.  I think it's safe to say that she was excited for school.  Harper was really sad that she couldn't stay at preschool with Avery because it looked like fun.  When we picked up Avery the teachers said she did great and was a very happy, helpful student.

Babying Sebastian

Sebastian really does love getting in the girls stroller, and this time that he did it Harper didn't flip out.  Avery actually strolled him around a little bit before they both had to commence with the mothering.  He quickly became their little baby that needed to be tucked into his stroller.  Sebastian really wasn't too much of a fan of this, so he flipped the blanket off.  It only took him a few minutes to figure out that he was done with the tender care and got out of there.

What a good mother.

Harper could use some practice though.

Harper the camera hog, but that is a great smile!

Labor Day Fun at the Zoo

Daryl's mom, Namma Diane, was in town for the Labor Day weekend so we went with her and Karl, Aimee, and Tyler too of course up to the Woodland Park Zoo.  You can see I didn't take a lot of pictures, but at least this time I remembered to get at least one with Harper in it :)

Tyler thought he fit in the stroller, but he really didn't since he couldn't get out without someone helping him get his feet out.  What a silly guy.

Here's Namma and Avery admiring some goats.  Avery even helpfully pointed out to her Namma, "goats eat hay,"

Now Karl and Tyler joined up with them for some goat petting fun.
