Dog Days

Last week was notable because we dog sat DeAnna and Brad's dog Lady.  The kids were ecstatic about dog sitting.  They love Lady a lot.  Emery took it on herself to make sure that Lady made it outside to go to the bathroom.  She and Luke would come into the house yelling that Lady had pooped and would demand I immediately take care of the mess.  If they only cared about things being clean inside the house.
Saturday we met Adam, Angie, Logan, and Ben at the Spring Fair in Puyallup.   The kids enjoyed going on the rides except we did not go on enough to suit their taste.  Also I had to push Harper and Emery down a big slide when they declared they had changed their mind.  When they got to the bottom they decided that they did have fun and weren't mad at me for forcing them to go down the slide because I did want to walk them back down the ridiculous number of stairs.  About half  of the kids were crying when we went home, so I guess we had a great time!

I think the kids took this picture of our cat Dax.

Lady looks she is enjoying the attention.

Somehow I don't think Lady is as happy as Luke is.

This is Luke's current potty training status.

I took pity on Lady and helped her up on our bed so she could snuggle.

Cousin fun!  Logan, Luke, Harper, and Emery.

Emery is upset because they aren't in the pink ship and she has to be a gunner instead of the pilot.

If you've ever wondered what Emery's like, this pretty much sums it up.

Spring Break Part 2

The last day of Spring Break we stayed overnight in a local hotel with an indoor pool, so the kids could go swimming.  Apparently it was also very exciting to watch Netflix in a hotel room.  Then we took them to McDonald's for dinner where they also enjoyed playing.  Saturday Adam, Angie, Logan, and baby Ben came up for a visit.  I'm not sure the kids were tired from the busy weekend, but Daryl and I were.

It was a riveting episode of Pocoyo.

We got doughnuts right after swimming Saturday morning.

I like to think Luke is practicing for some future eating contest in which he cannot use his hands.

Avery and baby Ben.

Emery had to join in too.

Adam was making silly faces at Benji.

The only picture I could get Avery to look at the camera and smile.

Spring Break Part 1

Last week was Spring Break.  Since we had a super fun mid-winter break we didn't really feel the need to go big for this break.  I started working on potty training Luke, and we are still working on it.  For the rest of the time we went to the park on the one good day of Spring Break, and ate pizza on our front lawn after watching the kids ride on the scooters out front.  It was pretty low key stuff.

Emery also posing for the camera.

Pizza is so much more exciting on the front yard.

Avery drew a princess and prince at our park.

Emery got into the action as well.

Easter

It was a low key Easter for us.  Karl, Aimee, and Tyler came over for dinner and egg hunting fun.  Aimee was the best aunt ever and stuffed a whole bunch of Easter Eggs for the kids to hunt in the house because it was gross outside.  Luke and Emery hunted for eggs in the family room while the big kids hunted in the living and dining rooms.  The kids really enjoyed the hunt.

Harper with her basket.  I am not quite sure how I missed getting a picture with Avery.

Emery made this at her preschool and called it her Easter feet.  She got really made at Avery when she suggested it was supposed to be a cross and not Emery's feet.

Luke hunting for eggs.  You can see that Karl and Daryl became places to hide eggs.
