Meeting Reagan

This last week we went down to Sacramento so we could all meet baby Reagan.  Avery and Harper were excited to see Reagan. Harper kept pointing at her and saying baby over and over again.  Avery kept wanting to hold her, so she should would "help" me hold Reagan by having Reagan's feet in her lap.  Reagan is adorable and was still under eight pounds when we met her.  Her hair is a dark blonde, but it totally looks red in some lights.  It looks like Harper might have a ginger cousin.  We'll have to see how both of their hair colors go in the future I guess.
During our visit Daryl and I took Avery to the Tech Museum in San Jose.  Avery had a great time while we were there, but unfortunately for Daryl there weren't enough outdated computers on display.  We also rode a little diesel train in Old Sacramento that runs up and down the Sacramento River.  The girls liked that of course.  Since summer is still in full force there, Avery got to swim every day there in the pool.  She has told me several times since our trip that she likes the water now.
It was a great trip and we can't wait to see baby Reagan again, and maybe Nellie, Ashlyn, and Paul too :)

Me and the girls.  You can see that Avery is "helping" me hold Reagan.

Reagan and I did a little photo shoot one day.

That hair looks a little red to me.

Avery and Daryl using a giant Google Earth display.

Avery really liked this robot that was using blocks to spell out her name.

Reagan right after a bath, so her hair was curling.

Ashlyn and Nellie on the train.

Look Daryl and me together in a picture.

That's Paul holding Reagan's head in a crocodile's mouth at Joe's Crab Shack.  For some reason Harper wouldn't let us hold her head in there and totally freaked out. Reagan was cool as cucumber about the whole thing on the other hand.

Daryl's Birthday

Yesterday was Daryl's birthday.  To help us celebrate Aimee, Karl, and Tyler came over for all the usual birthday festivities.  We had cake from an excellent local bakery and made some homemade chocolate chip cookie dough ice cream with chocolate chip cookie chunks as well as chocolate chip cookie dough per the birthday boy's request.  I think we all can agree that the evening was really capped off by two intense rounds of You Don't Know Jack on the Xbox that perhaps your humble author here won.  And yes I didn't get a single picture of Harper.  Bad mother, bad.

Tyler told me that Avery might have needed to be cleaned up after she was done with her cake.

Baby Sebastian

Just yesterday I said that I was pretty sure that Sebastian thought all of the girls' toys were actually his, so I guess it was no surprise that I saw that he took over their baby doll stroller for a nice place to hang out today.

He fit in there perfectly, and he even let me stroll him around a bit.

I told Harper to come and see who was in the stroller in hopes she would want to stroll him around, but instead she got really upset and started to yell at him to get out.

Anchors Away

We get to see a lot of interesting things from our back deck.  Like the submarine we saw a few months back.  One night we even saw someone launching flying lanterns like the ones from Tangled.  On Wednesday a Navy ship came passing through with a little escort of smaller ships and a Coast Guard vessel.

Here's a close up of the ship.

I have no idea if this is actually related at all.  When I was taking pictures I noticed there was a gigantic fountain of water just north of us on the beach.

The Coast Guard escort.

Another ship that was out there with everyone else.
