Emery's Ten Months Old

On Monday Emery turned ten months old.  Time is just flying by.  I can hardly believe that in two short months I will have a one your old around the house.  Emery has become more adventurous trying to stand up on our her feet and she has been trying to go up one step.  She will walk a little bit with us holding her hands. Since I already have two kids running around I would just prefer that she starts walking and join the crowd.  She has also started crawling on her hands and knees a lot, but she still scoots around too.
Emery thinks she is hungry all the time.  She rarely goes more than an hour without needing some kind of food.  She has a gusto for table food too.  This month she has had her first eggs, strawberries, grapes, Hawaiian sweet roll, pretzel roll, mac and cheese, spaghetti, and many more.  Emery has also started to wave back to you.  The reaction is a little delayed, but the patient waver is usually rewarded with some enthusiastic baby waves.  She is just a joy to have around.

This is the best I could do with my little wiggler.

Avery loves to grab Emery and make her sit in her lap.  Emery isn't as keen on this though.

My happy girl.

Upping the Ante

So it took nine months before I finally got pregnant with Emery, so after some thought we decided that for baby number four we would start trying much earlier.  We both said, but this time we won't have any problems and I'll get pregnant fast.  We were right.  November 8th baby number four will be joining us, and Emery will get to boss someone around at the tender age of 16th months.  We're very happy.  Avery was not so happy at the beginning, but now she has warmed up.  At first she would tell me, "No, no, no baby.  Not again."  As if she had any reason to complain.  When Emery was born she got to go to Disneyland three weeks later with just Daryl.  At any rate she is now at peace with the idea.
Avery and Harper currently say they would like another sister.  Although this answer can vary from time to time for Harper.  Avery has been pretty consistently saying sister.  Harper has told me on several occasions though that Emery would like a brother.  Daryl and I would appreciate having a boy for sure, but if it's a girl we aren't going to be upset.  We're having another baby because we want a baby not a boy or a girl specifically.

Easter

On the Saturday before Easter Aimee, Karl, and Tyler came over so the kids could dye Easter eggs together.  We also did an indoor Easter egg hunt since it was raining.  They had a great time hunting for eggs and being together as always.  Sunday after Church the girls discovered their Easter baskets waiting for them, and they were very excited.  They loved that they both got a pack of crayons and that they each got a chocolate shaped like a carrot.

Avery, Harper, and Tyler

The thrill of the hunt!

They were pretty good at helping each other out.

Finding their baskets after Church.

Even Emery got to get in on the Easter candy action.  She enjoyed the mini M&M's.

This is what Avery and Harper actually spent most of Easter Sunday doing.  They filled up both of the sinks in their bathroom and were giving the toys baths and boat rides.

Around the House

Here are just some random pictures I've taken in the past couple weeks.

Avery insisted on taking a picture after she did this puzzle.  Such a silly girl.
Fox and I were up one morning before the girls, so he actually sat in the family room for a few minutes before he heard Avery and high tailed it out of there. A very rare occurrence.

Emery wanted to play Angry Birds with Harper.  Right before I took this Harper had had her arm around Emery.  This picture makes Emery look big.

Harper came out with this get up the other day and declared that she was going to the moon.  While she was there she would go to outer space, see scary ghosts, and monsters.

And she is off to the moon with a backpack full of toys.

Oh Harper . . .

I showed this picture of Daryl when he was a boy to Avery and Harper the other day, and asked them who was in the picture thinking I was going to blow their minds when I told them it was Daryl.  Avery told me it was a boy, but Harper told me it was a doctor very confidently.  I told them that it was Daddy when he was a boy, and Harper added that Daddy was wearing a doctor shirt.  Sometimes you just have to wonder what exactly is going through their minds. Like the other day I was taking laundry out of the dryer with Harper, and while I was folding up a pair of my pants Harper told me that those were my big pants.
