Lights Out

Lately Avery likes to get on the twin bed in her room and tuck herself in. She thinks it's great. We think it is adorable.

Applesauce Fun!

In order to help Avery develop some spoon skills I have been giving her applesauce in the morning. I'll let you be the judge of how she's doing so far.

Avery's First Jello

Just wanted to commemorate this momentous occasion that happened yesterday. Avery loved the watermelon flavored Jello. I like that she was wearing her BYU baby cougar onesie too while eating Utah's favorite gelatin treat.

To borrow from Heather . . .

Just thought you should know, the next three posts are new. Enjoy them to the fullest!

Part 3: Phoenix

Our visit to Phoenix this year was almost exactly the same time that my mom, Avery, and I visited last year. It was amazing to see how much Avery has changed since that last visit. During last year's visit Tim also requested that we bring some guys along next time. Per his request, Daryl came with us so they could have some man time together. The first picture memorializes the Mariners' spring training game they went to. I believe the concessions are racing each other. Too bad I missed out on that :( (Note the rare emoticon use.) Next, Tim and Addison are bonding while watching t.v. Addison loves the television. I'm sure she'll grow up to be a well rounded person anyway. Third is Daryl trying to handle two wiggly little baby girls. Cuteness ensues. Fourth, Avery and DeAnna are playing in Addison's pack and play together. I understand that Brad gets a lot done when he puts DeAnna in the pack and play at home. Last, Avery tries out her Bumbo a year later. She's letting Addison borrow it for the time being, but enjoyed warming it up for her, for old times sake. That's not everything, but that's all you're getting.

Part 2: Disneyland

This doesn't begin to capture all the cuteness that happened at Disneyland. Avery for the most part was indifferent to the rides. She enjoyed Small World and sat through Great Moments with Mr. Lincoln twice. She clung to us during Pirates of the Caribbean and the Haunted Mansion, and absolutely hated Dumbo and the rockets in Tomorrow Land. My favorite Disneyland moment with Avery is holding her down on the floor of the rocket because she was terrified and desperately wanted to be held and we spun round and round and round. So fun for both of us!
At any rate the first picture is of Avery planning our day out of course. Second: Daryl and Avery on the carousel in California Adventures. Third: Avery and I on some ride in California Adventures. I look very tired, but I like to think Avery is looking adoringly up at me. Fourth: Phil holding Avery and Aidan at our character breakfast. Both Avery and Aidan cried and clung to their respective parents when they saw the characters. Avery didn't even like Mrs. Incredible. Last but certainly not least, darling Maddux. We got to ride on quite a few things together. We had a really great time. It was definitely a different Disneyland experience for Daryl and I with a small child, but we were surprised that Avery actually could go on the majority of the rides there. We were there four days, but it was not enough time to be with all our family and the Mouse.

Our vacation . . . from last month. Part 1: Sacramento

Last month we embarked on a grand family vacation to visit all of our nieces and nephews on my side of the family. We drove down to Sacramento and saw Nellie, Paul, and Ashlyn for a couple of days before driving down to Disneyland to see Phil, Heather, Maddux, and Aidan. After Disneyland we drove over to Phoenix to see Alex, Tim, and Addison as well as DeAnna and Brad. We had a great time, and Avery did great in the car thanks to Baby Einstein DVDs.

These are some choice pictures from Sacramento. The first one is of my lovely number one niece (chronologically speaking of course) Ashlyn. Then the next two pictures are from when we visited Paul at the firehouse. Avery got to sit in the engine, and the giant tire is Paul's idea of daycare at the firehouse. The last picture is of Avery riding around in the office chair at Paul and Nellie's place which I think she enjoyed more than the rides at Disneyland.

Your moment of Avery Zen

Sorry about the dearth of blogging activity.  Avery and myself were sick for the past couple weeks, and with Daryl just starting a math class no one has had much energy for the blog.  We did go on vacation last month to Disneyland among other places, and some day those pictures will be posted.  For the time being enjoy this Avery picture.
