Angie's Doggy and Karl's Birthday

This last weekend we had fun visiting family.  Once again we went to Adam and Angie's house to visit them and their puppy Seve.  The girls are still really cautious around him, but it's obvious that they love him.  Once Seve is past the teething stage, and learns to play fetch he is going to have two enthusiastic ball throwers.  Harper especially seems enamored of Seve.  She calls him Angie's doggy, and every day since we visited Seve on Saturday she has go on and on at some point in the day about going in the car to see Angie's doggy. Sunday she was so emphatic about it she was nearly in tears.  That girl is hilarious.
Also Saturday we celebrated Karl's birthday by going out to dinner and then getting some ice cream cones at the mall afterwards.  The girls were in a really good mood, possibly from all the fun they had at Adam and Angie's, and had a great time seeing Tyler.  They really enjoyed their ice cream cones too.  It was the first time that they ever had one actually.

Harper and Seve
Avery was trying to let Seve smell the flower she picked.
Some good old fashioned backyard fun.  The girls spent a lot of time poking trees with sticks.
Harper really wanted to Daryl to hold her, and she was really happy when he started to poke the tree with a stick too.
Harper insisted on holding and eating the ice cream cone herself much to my dismay.  She got chocolate everywhere, but only a little on me.
They all did a lot of hugging.  They enjoyed it immensely.  I love how happy Tyler and Avery look to be with each other.

4-d Ultrasound

Last Friday we went in for our 4-d ultrasound, and baby Babs was very uncooperative.  Usually she is always moving about and really responds when I eat sweet or spicy things.  Instead she must have been in a very somber mood on Friday because she preferred to snuggle her feet up to her like a baby pretzel, in addition to keeping herself pressed up against the uterine wall.  We enjoyed getting a peek at her none the less though.  Both Daryl and I are far too impatient not to go do this.  We love getting to see our baby this way before they are born.  It looks like this baby will be a little sparse in the hair department like Avery was. Harper was actually born with a good amount of hair, it was just so light you couldn't really tell. I've included pictures of Harper and Avery from their 4-d ultrasounds too.  We aren't sure who this baby looks like right now. We think maybe she is more of a mix of Harper and Avery.  Both Daryl and I think we are going to wind up with a blonde baby this time too.  Enjoy baby pictures!

The best shot we could get of her.
This is what she spent most of the time doing:  covering up her face and clutching one of her feet.
What can I say Harper has always been a happy girl.
Avery looking very contemplative.

Sick Day

Last Tuesday Avery was not feeling too good, so I kept her home from school. Here are her various antics through out the day.

Avery decided she needed to finish a last bag of jelly beans in our house on the go, so she put the bag inside the wheel of her Mini Cooper and drove around the house like that stopping periodically to have a jelly bean snack.
To make everyone feel better we had ice cream.
Avery decided that Daryl looked like an ideal bed.  She told him that she was tired and she wanted to go to bed, so she came out with a blanket and pillow and made herself comfortable.

Our Weekend

This last weekend felt jam packed.  First off it was General Conference.  Aimee, Karl, and Tyler came to our house to watch with us on Saturday, and also to do a lot of laundry since their washer wasn't working.  Avery and Tyler had a great time playing with each other Saturday, and then Sunday Aimee and Tyler came up again for some more conference.  We really enjoyed seeing them so much.  The kids had a great time playing.
Sunday evening we were able to go visit Adam and Angie, and meet their new puppy Seve.  He's a chocolate lab, and is adorable.  The girls  were a little cautious meeting him, which was fine by me.  They weren't afraid of him though, but it did take some coaxing to get them to pet him while he was napping.  Hopefully they can have more fun with their puppy cousin when the weather improves.

Avery and her rainbow.  She saw it Saturday morning, and was very, very excited.  She loves rainbows.
Playing with Tyler while doing some conference watching.
Harper very happy to be drawing with daddy.
Foolish parents not tracking Avery with her sidewalk chalk.  She made our media room prettier with flowers.  Fortunately we don't have an actual screen; we just project onto a wall with primer on it.
Avery very happy to see Adam.
Harper visiting Seve.
A close up of puppy cuteness.
Avery and Harper really liked closing and "locking" Seve's door.

Anniversary and Easter Weekend

This last Friday marked our sixth wedding anniversary.  To celebrate we got a babysitter, went to the temple, had dinner, and saw the new Oz movie.  We had a great time, and even remembered to take a picture of us.  The weather was beautiful that day just like it was for the day of our sealing six years ago. It feels like the years have just flown by, and neither of us can wait to see what the next six years will bring.
Sunday was Easter of course, and since it was a holiday and the good weather continued to hold we decided to take the girls to Cougar Mountain Zoo in Issaquah on Saturday.  Avery had some initial reluctance to go because she was convinced that she would have a much better time staying home and playing on the iPad all day.  Once we got to the zoo though she quickly forgave us and enjoyed herself.  The girls both really enjoyed feeding the animals, and Harper really enjoyed looking at the tigers.
On actual Easter Aimee, Karl, and Tyler came over for dinner.  The good weather by now had held for unprecedented three days time!  It was practically summer in Seattle on Sunday at 70 degrees.  We were able to eat our Easter feast on the deck.  The kids had a great time playing as always, and stuffing themselves  full of all sorts of goodies they probably didn't need.  That's pretty much what the adults did come to think of it too.  It was a great weekend to celebrate our marriage and the resurrection; and enjoy it with family!

We were able to get a shot of us and the temple together.
This bird friend is waving "hi!"  He really likes company.
Here's Harper feeding an alpaca.
Avery was being very silly.  She specifically wanted to pose for a picture this way.
Almost every time we go somewhere Avery packs a bag of toys.  This was the first time ever that she actually got her toys out and played with them on an outing.  We were watching a very cute bird show.
After the bird show Avery gave a dollar to the macaw to put into the donation box.
Harper really enjoyed eating her Easter candy, and by the end of the night there was Easter grass everywhere.  The nerdy adults were enjoying a rousing game of Dominion.
Avery enjoying candy.
Tyler gave me another great grin for this picture!  Avery was really sad when he left.  I think she was expecting him to spend the night like he did one of the last times he came to visit.
