So Daryl had a Birthday this Month Too

You can imagine that Daryl has been pretty broken up about not getting his own post about his birthday that was about twenty days ago.  I decided I couldn't let the month of August go by without a tribute to all things Daryl.  Avery thought that he was turning four on his birthday.  She didn't really have an adequate answer for why her dad would be younger than her though.  Daryl's birthday was super awesome for the girls because we got Pizza Hut and had cake of course.  The Saturday following his birthday though my parents watched the girls while we were able to go see Guardians of the Galaxy.  Our second non-kid movie of the year!  Daryl is a pretty awesome husband and father, and we love him lots!  Enjoy a stroll down Daryl memory lane with some of these pictures.

Daryl with our sweet baby chunk Emery.  She likes to suck her thumb when she's tired.

Harper helping making Daryl's birthday cake.

Daryl and his brother Karl.  Daryl thinks he's 11, so that would make Karl 13.  We think.

Daryl with his mission president, President Schultz and Sister Schultz back in 2000.  If only he had appreciated that hair.

Karl and Daryl again.  Nice stripes guys.

Happy Birthday Aimee!

Last night we celebrated my sister in law Aimee's birthday in style with lots of trampoline fun for the kids and a pinata!  The girls had a great time.  Emery was especially happy that she was able to roam around the backyard.  The night before the party Aimee was at our house and Avery was telling her that she was going to go to the mall and pick out a ring for her birthday.  Avery was sure that Aimee needed a ring because she's a girl and they love rings every day.  Since I needed to go to Target anyway and I was in an indulgent mood I carted the girls there to let Avery pick out a ring.  She was very decisive and insistent that only one particular ring would do.  She was delighted to give it to Aimee.  Aimee asked her if it was real diamonds and Avery said no it came from the mall.  She's so funny.  Thanks for being born Aimee and choosing the white sheet cake!  You're the best!

Here's a picture of Emery and I with James Twiddy in the background.

She loved the trampoline.

Harper also loved the trampoline.

A super sweet picture of Aimee and Emery.

Aimee taking some whacks at her pinata.

Avery loved the pinata so much and was excited to watch everyone hit it.

Here's our sweet Harper giving the pinata some love taps.

Avery gave it her all.

I told Daryl to give me his best ruggedly handsome face.

Sibling Get Together

Daryl's brother Kyle came in from Florida, so Ashley, Karl, Aimee, Tyler, and Kyle all came over for dinner last night.  Avery was funny she ran down to the basement to see Kyle and came running back up pretty quickly to tell me that he liked her and Harper.  That girl is pretty funny.  Avery and Harper also told me that they really liked Ashley's name.
We had a great time with some good food.  No one was sure the last time that all the siblings were together.  It probably was our wedding, so we were more than overdue.  I couldn't help but notice that Tyler has grown in the last month since we saw him.  He is a head taller than he was, and I think he was pretty much up to my chest.  Tyler is going to be one of the tallest first graders around I think!

Karl, Ashley, Kyle, and Daryl.

Tyler growing way too fast.

I missed out on taking a picture of all the kids playing together, so you get this picture of my ragamuffins.  Avery is wearing a little Mario Kart visor that we got at McDonald's.

I figured that we can't get enough pictures of Emery's chubs.

Imperial Baby Walker!

Last week after many cautious weeks of holding onto Mom and Dad's hands Emery finally let go to start walking on her own.  The last straw was at church when I was trying to talk to someone, and Emery wanted to go.  She got frustrated and let go of my finger and walked around the corner.  When we got home from church she decided she didn't need help walking, and now we have a walker much to my relief.  She is now back to her usual level of independence.  Ironically now that she walks on her own she will use her walker.  We tried really hard to get her to use the walker when she was learning to walk, but she cried every time she touched it.  Now it's tons of fun to push around.
Netflix won't load fast enough for her.

I don't see how this could have helped me learn to walk on my own, but it sure is fun now!

Harper wanted to be in the picture of course.

Cute Times

Life's been busy of course getting Avery registered for Kindergarten, and getting her settled with a new speech therapist.  We miss our former speech therapist in West Seattle who came to the house.  That was pretty awesome.  We are getting used to our new ward, and are excited to attend church at a building with a parking lot again.  The girls love their new classes at church and just had a seamless transition moving with pretty much everything.  Avery loves to show people around the house and tell them this is someone's old house.  She's pretty hilarious.  I found a new ob too, and now I am trying to really focus on getting our previous home ready to put on the market.  Last time we moved it was March and it was a lot easier to get painters and etc. in because no one was busy at that time.  In the meantime enjoy these pictures of our girls being cute and silly.

I couldn't resist taking a picture of Harper sleeping one morning.

Emery loves to get up on Harper's bed and chill.

So many sweet chubs!

Yeah she loves to play with my phone already.

This was from this last Sunday.  They are putting on a puppet show with Star Wars finger puppets.

The show was pretty action packed and intense!

They put their whole effort into the awesome show.
