Mother's Day

Ah Mother's Day.  This year's was not a disappointment as I was showered in handmade art projects from my children.  I was also able to go escape and get a facial, and have lunch with just Daryl.  The highlight was going to Emery's Mother's Day Tea at school.

Emery and I at her Mother's Day tea in her Kindergarten class.

I was greeted by this upon arriving to Emery's class.

Emery's class performed a dance and  a song for all the mothers.

This is the portrait that Emery did of me.  Apparently Emery doesn't know me as well as she thinks she does.  She did get my favorite music right.

Avery did this at Church. She says that we like to play video games together and this is also what I really love.  She's not incorrect.

The card Luke made me at preschool.

He wrote, "I love you Mom."

Emery's card she made me at school.

Harper made this at school.

April

April feature a visit from Paul, Nellie and Reagan which was awesome of course.  They ended up joining Avery and I in running the Beat the Bunny 5k we try to run every year.  It was pretty wet this year.  I was really hoping for sprinkling, but it was rain.  I guess it could have rained harder though.  We went to the kids art walk at their school this month too.  The girls really enjoyed showing off the school to us and their art.  We also celebrated Easter with the help of Aimee, Karl, and Tyler.

Reagan, Harper, and Emery put a pet fashion show on.

I hiked to the top of Poo Poo Point.  I love going up there.

I did my pencil puzzle Aimee gave me during General Conference, so my body doesn't betray me by falling asleep.

March

We greatly appreciated the month of March for being warmer and making all the snow go away finally.  We had a fun month that included McTeacher's night at our local McDonald's and helping Emery construct a leprechaun trap.  Also the kids all slept in the basement together with their cousin Tyler when he came to spend the night, so his parents could celebrate their anniversary.

Harper devouring her McFlurry.  I had a Shamrock shake for old times sake, so now I don't need one for ten years or so.

Everyone was in my bedroom bugging me, so I took a picture which in turn bugged some of the children.

Tyler was reading to Emery and Harper during their sleepover.  He is the best cousin.

Harper on Brad and DeAnna's treadmill.  They thought it was super fun and everyone insisted on having a turn and getting their picture taken.

Emery's turn as Luke as getting yelled at for touching the treadmill with his hand.

Avery on the treadmill with the heart monitor attached.

Luke's turn.

Emery was the student of the week in her class.  Her favorite food is meat and her favorite book is Molang.

Luke and I at the genius bar getting the iPad fixed after the kids locked us out of it forever.

I went hiking by myself to the Talus rocks.  It was really fun.

Making memories messes.

I helped Harper with her Valentine box, so it was Daryl's turn to help Emery make a leprechaun trap.

The Rest of February

Well it took somewhere around four days for the kids' schools to dig out after all the snow.  They weren't able to go to school on Valentine's Day which was a Thursday, but they were finally able to go to school on Friday and do all their Valentine's celebrations.  Then the next week was their mid-winter break.  In the end they wound up getting six additional instruction days at the end of the year tacked on.

Harper's Valentine box

At the bus stop on the day after Valentine's when they could finally get to school again.

Daryl had a cookie bouquet sent to the kids for Valentine's Day.

Luke with a cookie flower.

The kids repurposed the cookie box as a gift box for Daryl.

Look at the awesome stuff they threw in there: McDonald's toys, a giant white pipe cleaner, and an iPad with headphones.

Luke also fit in the box.

We also were in the process of getting new living room windows on Valentines Day.
