Pumpkin Patches and Everything Between

We are halfway through October and I've been to two different pumpkin patches with various children.  The kids randomly had the first Monday off, so we went up to Craven Farm.  It was muddy and raining, but that we just put on our raincoats and boots.  Everyone got messy and ate giant frosted sugar cookies while doing various farm activities.  Then yesterday I went with Ashley, Ayva, and Luke to Bob's Corn and Pumpkin Farm.  Luke and Ayva had a great time, and even played together some of the time.  Ayva loved going down the giant tube slides that Luke was too scared to go down.  The weather was way better than our first pumpkin patch visit too.

I just liked this spider web by our mailbox.

Luke and his brand new rain boots.  I was looking for rain boots myself and he was helping me pull them off.  I thought he was being sweet helping me.  Really he was pulling them off, so we could get him rain boots instead.

Emery was sick last week and cuddled herself into bed early.

Ayva wasn't quite tall enough to be in the pumpkin.

Luke wanted to drive the bus.

Luke could only handle the open slides.

Avery drew this on the chalkboard.  It's a witch saying, "Welcome to the mantion(sic).  It is spooky."

The First Day of School Sort Of

I did take pictures of the girls on their first days of school, but I have no idea where the pictures went.  This morning we did retakes, and Avery even pretended to be nervous and curious about what would happen on her first day of school for the full effect.  The last picture of Luke was actually taken on his first day of school by his preschool.

Full House III: Benny and Logan's Revenge

Your going to just have to take my word for it that at the same time as I was babysitting Logan and Ben while there parents were away at a Packer's game, my Aunt Dianne, my cousin Lisa, and her husband Mike were also staying at my house.  I really am not that good at taking pictures.  Dianne, Lisa, and Mike mostly hung out with my parents seeing some Layman cousins around here and watching BYU lose miserably to the Huskies.  Luke and Logan had a great time playing together.  It was kind of fun having three boys to match the three girls.  I took the boys to the Cougar Mountain Zoo one day, and then I took all the kids (except for Benny who stayed home with Daryl) to Sammamish State Park.  There were a lot of messes, fast food, and late nights.  The kids had a blast.

Ben was not impressed.

You can see Ben's walker in the background.  He preferred the chair most of the time and took it all over the place.  Emery enjoyed running around with the walker though.

September Stuff

September was busy and fun.  My sister-in-law, Ashley and I ran a 10k.  Neither of us had run a 10k before and fortunately we were both dealing with knee stuff.  We finished in an hour and forty-three minutes and that was good enough for me.  Luke and Ayva had a great time hanging out with each other that weekend too.  We of course took the whole family to the state fair.  We celebrated my BFF's birthday with some sweet Paw Patrol decorations that Luke and Zander approved of.  Daryl and I took Avery and Harper to see our sweet prophet, Russell M. Nelson, speak at Safeco Field with about 49,000 other people.  It was a pretty exciting month.

You can't see it but Luke is making a pumpkin decoration cackle at Ayva who is both scared and delighted every time it does that.
