Harper's First Hair Cut

Today was Harper's turn for a hair cut.  The stylist and I both agreed that she ended up with the worst damage between them both because Avery cut off a lot of the hair in front; almost all the way to the scalp.  Harper was very excited about her hair cut and asked me if it was time to go to her hair cut for hours before we had to leave.  She was very good and still with a very solemn face for most of the hair cut.  Just like Avery she likes her hair cut a lot.

The before picture which I don't think quite captures the awfulness of what happened to her hair.

Say goodbye to the super mullet.

Avery and Harper wanted to do a bunch of silly poses for me.

Emery wanted her picture taken too.

Avery's Hair Cut

Last Wednesday Avery found the scissors and cut her hair, Harper's hair, and many of the dolls' hair.  The only one spared was Emery.  She cut her hair really short on one side, and there was really no choice but for her to get a bob.  Last night we were able to get her hair cut, and she loves it.  This is her first real hair cut. I was planning on getting her hair at least trimmed anyway, this just upped the time table.  I was really lucky to find a good hair stylist that specializes in kids.  She was really good and had My Little Ponies for Avery to play with while getting her hair cut, and even had a Kindle at the ready too.  Then she got a hair clip and a prize at the end.  Now Avery's hair is a little more low maintenance which is just as well.  I can't wait to see what Harper will look like when she gets her turn.

You can see the left ponytail is cut in half, and what you can't notice is that she cut her bangs all wonky.
Here she is with her no hair cut doing some kind of pose as usual.

She kept wanting this little fish in the picture.  It was her prize at the end of the hair cut for being good.

Baby Boy's 4-D Ultrasound

Since Daryl and I are incredibly impatient about meeting our babies we did a 4-D ultrasound today.  This is now our fourth time with Baby Pictures in Bellevue, and it's amazing how the technology has advanced since our first time with Avery.  The pictures are now even more enhanced, so things look clearer.  Baby boy wasn't totally uncooperative, but he did prefer to keep himself smashed up against the placenta most of the time.  Who wouldn't want to though.  We managed to get a decent shot of his face right at the end after we poked him a whole bunch.  Neither Daryl or myself felt like he looked like any of our children.  He looks like himself.  I love his mouth though, and those cheeks really need some kisses.
In case you are wondering, I'm 31 weeks now.  I'm doing pretty good.  Just feeling tired, awkward, and out of breath a lot.  We really haven't zeroed in on any name yet.  I guess we should probably try to work on that.  Harper is really funny and talks about her baby brother a lot.  She likes to sit by me and then point to a spot on my tummy while saying this is baby brother's head.  Then she points at various other spots naming off other body part's such as hands, feet, and ears.

I like this picture with his little mouth open.  He had just let go of his umbilical cord for a moment.

That's the umbilical cord hanging out by his mouth.

Avery's First Day of Kindergarten

Avery was very excited for Kindergarten today!  She loved school and can't wait to go tomorrow.  She even gave her teacher a hug at the end of the day.  We are fortunate to live about a half mile away from our school, so we are planning on walking to school for the time being. Also everyone is pretty happy that Avery is going to school for full day.  Avery's teacher had the parents come into the classroom in the morning, and the kids waved goodbye and blew kisses before parents gave hugs and kisses and left.  Avery was fine with me leaving, after all we've done preschool for two years already, and she's never had a hint of separation anxiety.  I was fine too.  Harper was okay too.  I was worried she might miss her, but she had a great time playing with Emery and using the computer all by herself.

Avery had some really goofy poses for me this morning.  I couldn't really get her to take a "normal" picture.

I'm not sure where the hand gestures came from.

Harper as always wanted to be part of the picture.

Emery and Harper having fun by themselves today.

Harper wanted me to take a picture just of Emery, and Emery sure hammed it up for me.
