Crime of the Century

Monday we carved our pumpkins in great efficiency.  Avery and Harper designed their pumpkins, and Daryl dutifully carved them.  Emery didn't have much input for her pumpkin other than that it should be happy.  The girls' pumpkins all taken care of Daryl and I set to carving our own.  I must say that our amazing sister-in-law Aimee grew the pumpkins, and we loved the two green ones that we got from her.  Daryl decided to make the almost perfectly round green pumpkin a Death Star.  When he was done all agreed it looked great.
We were kind of tired that night, so we put the pumpkins out on the stoop without posing them all for pictures.  Daryl did take a quick picture with his phone of the Death Star.  Little did we know that would be the only picture we would have of his magnificent pumpkin.  In the morning when Daryl went to go see his pumpkin it was gone.  There was only the empty space between mine and Harper's pumpkin where the Death Star once sat.  In the mere ten or so hours that it sat outside it was spirited away.  Now the way we decorate for Halloween is forever changed.  We now have several decorations that our motion activated, that will start a ruckus when someone approaches.  Maybe this will discourage future pumpkin thefts.

Luke really wanted to help out.

After this Luke was removed from Daryl's lap, so he could actually get some carving done.

Here's Avery and Emery's pumpkins.

Here's Harper's pumpkin, the cat is in the place where the Death Star once sat, and then my pumpkin.

Last Week in Pictures

Daryl snuggled up with his girls.

Luke looking silly.

Harper made this amazing tree out of a paper bag in Kindergarten.

Luke started looking for Waldo all on his own,

Avery was leading Luke and Logan in a rousing rendition of "If You're Happy and You Know It."

They were both really into it.

Those are some good moves.

Emery Visits Kelsey Creek Farm

Last Thursday Emery's preschool class visited the Kelsey Creek Farm to learn more about the animals there and pick out pumpkins.  We met Dixie and Wilma the pigs, and Daphne the pony.  Farmer Jane let everyone pet Daphne, and then we "helped" make her bed up in her stall.  The kids were really cute dumping the straw dust in the stalls and then sweeping and raking it in the stall.  Emery still loudly will tell you that she picked a pumpkin.

Hanging out on the barn rug.

Daphne the pony who was super soft and very patient with the preschoolers.

Here's the bedding that the kids gathered in little buckets to take the stall.

Here's everyone dumping the bedding out of the buckets.

Emery doing some raking.

Emery went straight for this pumpkin.

Here's all of Emery's cute preschool class.  I love that Emery and her little classmate have the same hand me down jacket from their older sisters.

School Picture Time!

It's always exciting to see what you are going to get at school picture time.  This year we got lucky and won't need retakes.  Also Harper relaxed this year and we got a more organic Harper picture than last years business Harper.  I let Avery wear a headband because I honestly don't really care what they wear for picture day as long as it's clean.  I enjoyed her big toothy grin.

Aidan's Baptism

The other weekend we made a quick trip down to Utah for a nephew, Aidan's, baptism.  Unfortunately I did not whip out my camera very often at all.  I did get a great picture of Aidan and Harper sending marbles down a little run they built.  I am glad that kids got to hang out with Aidan and Maddux.  Daryl and I  also had an awesome double date with Phil and Heather to eat at The Roof.  On our way out of town we stopped at Temple Square and were able to meet Daryl's cousin Jennie and her husband Mike with there three sweet girls, Sophie, Addie, and Penelope.  Harper and Addie are about the same age, and held hands while walking around.  It was great to see them we also saw Jennie's mom,  Daryl's aunt Debbie which was funny since we actually live about twenty minutes from her at home.

Aidan was holding the marble run while Harper sent the marbles down over the banister.

Penelope, Harper, Addie, Avery, Sophie, and Emery

Penelope, Harper, Addie, Avery, Sophie, Luke, and Emery.  Luke is actually sitting in Penelope's stroller because Emery wanted to sit in our stroller.  I love Luke looking very unimpressed.  He has accepted his lot of being surrounded by girls.

September's Leftovers

It's not exactly half way through October right?  It's never too late to catch up on blogging in my opinion anyway.  September was a busy month of getting used to new routines.  Emery learned to love preschool, and I am loving the free time I get a couple days of week.  I've been trying to use the time that Emery and Luke are at preschool to organize my house a little more.  This month I finally decluttered the kitchen counters, and I took pictures.  Enjoy the rest of these random pictures I snapped in September.

Luke was feeding Dax Pirate's Booty which she loves.

Occasionally Luke and Emery play nicely together.

Luke thought he needed to try on this jean jacket that was Harper's size.

Avery sitting on the stairs needing her picture taken.

Harper was not to be outdone.

One more picture of Luke in a big jean jacket.

Luke makes himself cozy on the couch often actually.
