Halloween

For Halloween this year we were in Phoenix for my sister Alex's wedding to her now husband Chris.  Avery and Harper were excited for this for weeks.  They couldn't wait to see Addison and meet their new cousins Mackenzie and Sam.  We made sure that we would be there for Halloween so all the cousins could go trick or treating together.  Besides Chris and Alex's kids, the girls' little cousin Reagan was there, and Mackenzie, Sam, and Addison's cousin Ben was also there.  It was quite the group.  I think there ended up being more adults than kids in the trick or treating group though.
This was the most trick or treating Avery has ever done.  She really enjoyed it.  Harper needed to be carried the last little bit of trick or treating and was not as enthusiastic.  There were several cute older people in Chris and Alex's neighborhood that set up shop in their driveways to give away their candy.  I ended up being the last person to see one lady with Harper, and she insisted that I take candy with me for all the adults in our trick or treating group.  She was very cute.
It was also exciting to be there for Reagan's first trick or treating.  She didn't look very impressed, but appreciated the candy she was given during trick or treating to keep her happy.  I must admit that I failed to really dress up Emery in a costume this year.  The closest she got was wearing a dark leopard print outfit from the Gap.  Oh well.  All the kids had a great time and they were super cute.

From right to left:  Mackenzie as a snow princess, Ben as a friendly monster, Harper as a ladybug, Reagan as a butterfly, Addison as Rapunzel, Avery as Minnie Mouse, and Sam as Batman.  I had asked Sam earlier what his favorite candy is and he said Batman candy.  While we were trick or treating I asked if he had gotten any Batman candy, but he seemed disappointed that he hadn't gotten any.  I think he got over it though.

Poor Reagan looking very unimpressed with her lot in life.

The gang going over their haul.

Some of the grown ups dressed up when we went out that night.  This is my sister-in-law Angie dressed up as Rosie the Riveter.

My brother-in-law Paul lost a bet when the the 49ers lost to the Seahawks and had to dress as a Seahawks fan for Halloween.
