So I'm DYING to know the last name story! Glad to hear your update on Crouch's Closet. Our babies have the same birthday! But my baby just turned one. Glad to catch up with you. Love, Dave, the wave

Dave the Wave! Great to hear from you. As I warned in my Crouch's Closet message the last name story is not as exciting as you would think, but here goes. When I got married I told my husband I didn't like his last name and I didn't want to change it. He said that was fine and married my anyway. So I kept my last name and said that the kids could have my husband's last name. Fast forward to when I'm pregnant with Avery and my hubby decides he would like us all to have the same last name, so we find a compromise. Hubby's middle name is Gordon and also a maternal grandmother's last name that died with her, so we chose this as our new last name. Except we procrastinated changing it and before we knew it Avery was born. We decided it would be just easier to give her the new last name, so we wouldn't have to go through the process of switching along with ours. That's why Avery's last name is Gordon, mine is Layman still, and my husband's is still Butcher. Daryl and I plan to switch over to Gordon soon we've just been procrastinating going to the courthouse and taking care of it. There's the story. Not as exciting or interesting as you would think huh?
